Review 1. Raindance Film Festival website:
‘Hard-hitting’ would be an appropriate phrase to describe this tale of four South London lads from writer and director Sam Holland. Not only because their lives are depicted completely without compromise but also because these boys solve problems with their fists. They are the children of the council estates, urban thugs with little chance from the concrete coliseum that surrounds them. 

The feature, shot for under £1,000,000 and with brilliantly realistic performances shows that we can care about people who are essentially unpleasant on the surface. This is a powerful, sometimes disturbing but relentlessly gripping film told with great energy and stylised visuals, which enhance rather than overpower the storyline. ‘Zebra Crossings’ is a telling document of our times and certainly marks Holland out as a talent to watch.
